Moorilla Estate
Muse Riesling 2009 Still remarkable pale colour; the flowery and fragrant bouquet has citrus and honeysuckle blossom nuances that join together on the long, fine palate; still in its infancy, and will repay extended cellaring.
Screwcap. 13% alc. Rating 94 To 2025 $25
Muse Chardonnay 2009 The most (sexually) explicit label in the Muse series, and that’s saying something. The wine has a shaft of purity driving through the length of the palate, the absence of mlf the reason; white peach fruit is shrouded by citrusy acidity, oak in the shadows; it all work surprisingly well.
Screwcap, 14%alc Rating 94 To 2020 $45
Muse Pinot Noir 2009 Good depth to the colour, a substantial pinot by any standards, full of spice, ripe and rounded berry, plum and black cherry fruit; the tannins are ripe, and the wine will continue to develop well for years to come.
Screwcap. 14% Rating 94 To 2019 $45
Muse St Matthias Vineyard Syrah 2009 Good colour; an intensely spicy, savory Shiraz with a palate of high-tensile energy signaling the very cool climate that has nonetheless allowed the grapes to fully ripen. Has considerable length and the underlines the fact that Tasmanian Shiraz/Syrah is here to stay (in good vintages)
Screwcap. 14.2% alc. Rating 94 To 2030 $60
