Gewürztraminer 2012
A seductive deep gold, almost copper in hue, the Muse Gewürztraminer 2012 is intensely aromatic, dry and poised in its elegance. On the palate, it delivers a rich interplay of dried apricot, Turkish delight, papaya, and subtle smokiness, finishing dry and slightly oily. Complex and versatile, it pairs wonderfully with a range of foods or can be enjoyed on its own, showing the refinement and poise of this classic varietal.

Winemaker Notes
Since my first releases of this varietal, which in my opinion is most terroir-driven of all the white grapes, I have worked to make a dry wine that would highlight spice and texture rather than upfront fruit, all while remaining very delicate. Unlike normal vintages, this wine is a single vineyard wine. Due to extremely low yields this year we achieved a total release volume of only 200L. Given the extremely low yields, we decided to do a small experiment. This year, the wine was fermented on skins using wild yeast. The resulting wine shows more complexity and a fuller palate structure, it’s again a shame there is so little in the release.
